Fischer Mechanical installs all types of plumbing backing for plumbing fixtures and accessories. Items that we install includes mirrors, toilet paper dispensers, cabinets that support sinks, paper towel dispensers, hand dryers, handicap bars and partition walls between toilets and urinals.
What is Plumbing Backing:
Plumbing backing is constructed of either wood or a thin sheet of metal installed between the drywall studs to support plumbing fixtures. Many fixtures such as sinks and toilets that are mounted to walls need to be fastened to something solid. Items such as toggle bolts or other drywall anchors will not support plumbing fixtures. Backing is used for toilet paper holders, shower fixtures, hand dryers, paper towel dispensers, mirrors, and handicap bars. Partition walls installed in restrooms between toilets require backing if they are not able to be fastened to a stud.
